A shocking murder rocks Bon Temps, and Sookie is arrested for the crime.
But the evidence against Sookie is weak, and she makes bail. Investigating the killing, she’ll learn that what passes for truth in Bon Temps is only a convenient lie. What passes for justice is more spilled blood. And what passes for love is never enough…
The final book, seems unreal! So much has happened since that first book. Sookie has learned by trial and lots of error who she is at heart. Whereas the book did not end the way I’d hoped, I am not upset with the ending. I do know that my version would have gone against character traits – and was more of “wishful thinking.”
There are lots of past characters in this book, like in any farewell episode of a loved sitcom. There was Sookie in trouble as usual, lots of her friends and love interests, mystery and murder. All the ingredients of a classic Sookie Stackhouse novel. To be truthful, I think this wrapped up the series nicely. Even though I am holding out hope of another series with one of the other characters… a girl can wish!
