Tiger’s Voyage, Book 3

Book Title: Tiger’s Voyage, Book 3
Author: Colleen Houck
Publisher: Splinter
Age Appropriate: Teen and older
Stars: 3.5 Stars

The third book in the gripping Tiger’s Curse series. With the head-to-head battle against the villainous Lokesh behind her, Kelsey confronts a new heartbreak: in the wake of his traumatic experience, her beloved Ren no longer remembers who she is. As the trio continues their quest by challenging five cunning and duplicitous dragons, Ren and Kishan once more vie for her affections–leaving Kelsey more confused than ever. Fraught with danger, filled with magic, and packed with romance, TIger’s Voyage brings Kelsey and her two tiger princes one step closer to breaking the curse.

Tiger’s Voyage was better than the second book in the series. I would have liked if some of descriptions were shortened. At one point, I felt like I was training instead of the characters. I don’t think I needed that much information. In fact, that whole part of the book could have been taken out. Other than that, Tiger’s Voyage picks up with the adventure that made Book 1 so well received. There were basically 6 parts of the task to break the curse, nevermind the personal and relationship drama. That makes for LOTS of content. Whereas I thought that Tiger’s Quest lacked creativity and fell flat, this story is robust and filled to the brim with the power of Houck’s creative mind.

There is not nor has there been “mature” or sexual content in any of these books – so don’t worry about that (if that makes you worry.) The love story takes a turn in this one, and the ending will make you reach for Book 4 which comes out in September. (But luckly I will be able to review that one before September.) I am interested to see where the story goes in book 4. While this has not been one of my all time favorite series, I am saving my overall judgement until the end of Tiger’s Destiny.
